Maqolada internet diskursida imlo me’yoridan og‘ishning pragmatik tabiati o‘zbek va ingliz tillari qiyosida tadqiq etiladi. Raqamli yozishmadagi harf takrori, qisqartma, bosh harf va tinish belgisining noodatiy qo‘llanishi, diakritik belgining tushirib qoldirilishi, yozuv tizimining almashtirilishi xato sifatida emas, kommunikativ niyatni signal qiluvchi kontekstuallashtiruvchi ishora sifatida talqin qilinadi. Kompyuter vositasidagi diskurs tahlili, relevantlik va xushmuomalalik nazariyalariga tayanib, chekinishlarning 5 funksional turi ajratiladi: prosodik-emotiv, iqtisodiy, grafik-intonatsion, identifikatsion va ludik-istehzoli. Ongli chekinishni tasodifiy xatodan farqlash mezonlari taklif etiladi. Ingliz internet yozuvidagi og‘ishlar asosan chuqur orfografiya bilan talaffuz o‘rtasidagi tafovutdan oziqlanishi, o‘zbek yozishmalarida esa diakritika, lotin-kirill digrafiyasi va rus tilli internet vositachiligida shakllangan grafik an’analar bilan bog‘lanishi ko‘rsatildi. O‘zbek foydalanuvchisining grafik erkinligi milliy muloqot odobi bilan cheklanishi, yoshi katta adresatga yo‘llangan ritual formulalar deyarli me’yoriy shaklda qolishi ham aniqlandi. Natijalar kiberpragmatika, qiyosiy pragmalingvistika va til siyosati uchun ahamiyatli.
